VIDEO: Inexpensive Life Saving Robot for U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan - The Bill Wattenburg Show

Published 8-Apr-2013

An inexpensive remote controlled small truck to save the lives of soldiers who die scouting the enemy. This robot truck is ready to save dozens of lives every month if the Pentagon would pay attention -- and save at least 50 million dollars every week in lost armored trucks. Engineering students at California State University, Chico, working with my team at the Livermore National Lab designed and built this to take the place of soldiers in Afghanistan who are being killed scouting out the enemy.

You can run this robot by remote control over the internet from your desk anywhere and have it go anywhere in Afghanistan today to show you what is hiding behind a building or have it explode the roadside bomb that will kill soldiers in a manned vehicle. A soldier in the field can drive it to any location and then get out and send it into dangerous places by remote control as shown in the video.

It is crazy. It costs less than $50,000. That is less than a scratch on a soldier's arm these days. It is made from standard components you can buy off the shelf anywhere today. But the Pentagon chiefs will not pay any attention to this - while they pay millions for armored trucks that do not protect our soldiers. And pay to bury our young service members sent over there to die needlessly.

We are using multimillion dollar high-tech drone airplanes to kill the terrorist chiefs. But the Pentagon will not spend a few dollars for low tech equipment to save the lives of the young soldiers we send there to be cannon fodder. - Bill Wattenburg
