Trouble Logging in?

Current Premium Members, if you cannot log-in, request a new password and log-in with the new password and use your email address as your username.

Forgot My Password

You can reset your password here. Just enter your email address and click "Send me my new password" and a new password will be sent to your email address that was provided at registration. Be sure to check your junk mail folder if this email is not showing up in your mailbox. Also, when logging in, be sure to log-in with your correct user name, (usually your email address).

Do I have to Log-in?

If you log-in on this page https://www.trn1.com/user/action/login
and click "Remember my log-in information" you will be logged in automatically when you enter the site.

Logging into TRN1.com is important - it protects others from being able to access your account with us. Your account holds private and personal information and we want to make sure that it is as secure as possible.

Why is my Subscription Expired?

If you receive a message that your subscription has expired, it is due to a billing problem. You can add a new subscription at anytime from your account page by clicking "Add a Subscription" and choosing a subscription option of your choice and your subscription will be automatically renewed.

Purchasing Problems

TRN1.com utilizes several techniques to protect your credit card and identity from fraud. This includes AVS Address Verification System which requires your billing address to match the address of your credit card to protect against stolen credit card use.

If your credit card is denied due to an address verification mis-match, check for any misspellings or typo's that may show an incorrect address or zip code.

If you are sure you are entering the correct information and still being denied, check with your bank to make sure your address records at the bank are correct.

You can also choose the "Offline Payment" option and send in a money order for a yearly membership of $54.95 and avoid the online payment process.

Sometimes a membership purchase is approved, but for some reason the automatic renewall transaction is denied causing your subscription to expire. You can easily renew your subscription at anytime in your Account Manager page by choosing "Add a Subscription", or "Extend Subscription" to extend your membership.

Updating Your Credit Card Information

You can update your credit card information by following these steps: 

1. Log in to your account manager page.
2. Cancel your subscription (you will not loose any paid subscription time).
3. Renew your subscription using your new credit card by clicking "Add a subscription", or "Extend Subscription" depending on your subscription status.

Just remember your new renewal date will be changed to the day you renewed your subscription. If you already had paid subscription time, it will be extended but the renewal date is based on the day you renewed your subscription, so a monthly subscription for example, would be due 30 days from the day you renewed your subscription.

What's the difference between Registering as a User and Becoming a Premium Member?

Anyone can register as a user  and join the free Talk Radio Network mailing list to receive email updates about the site. Of course, you can unsubscribe anytime.

Simply registering as a user and signing up for the free newsletter does NOT make you a Premium Member or provide access to Members Only areas of the web site.

To access Premium Member areas you need to purchase a Premium Membership by visiting the TRN Memberships page.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging in and going to your account page. On your account manager page you will find a cancel subscription option.

If there is no cancel subscription button in your account page, it means you have not yet purchased a subscription at this new site, or your subscription has expired.

If you are experiencing problems

It is recommended that you have the "cookies" in your browser software turned ON . To check if your "cookies" are enabled, in current versions of Internet Explorer you can click on Tools --> Internet Options --> Security or Privacy (depending on what version you have). Please reset the custom settings to "Medium" or change the "Allow cookies" to "enable".

Please also try logging out of your account by clicking on the "Log Out" button on the upper right hand corner of the TRN1.com Home Page. Then quit your browser and open it again to log in again freshly. This should help reset your access privileges.
The TRN1 website is designed for visitors using the Internet Explorer Version 6.0 or higher with Flash 7 or newer installed. Other browsers will also work that are newer than I.E. 6.

To check what version of Internet Explorer you are using click on Help --> About Internet Explorer. If you find that you need to update your Internet Explorer software, you can download a newer version (free) by visiting Microsoft's web site here. For help on enabling cookies in other browsers, please refer to the help section of that browser.


AOL Users:

America Online customers who experience problems using the TRN1.com website can improve performance by downloading and installing a stand-alone version of the Internet Explorer browser.
Using this stand-alone browser instead of the built-in AOL version of Internet Explorer can solve many problems associated with accessing the World Wide Web through AOL.
Here's how to proceed:
Download the latest version of Internet Explorer.
Install the downloaded browser software on your computer. (You'll find installation instructions at the Internet Explorer download Web site.)
Restart your computer.
Sign on to AOL as usual but stay at the AOL Welcome page.
Start your newly installed, stand-alone version of Internet Explorer browser- with AOL running in the background.
Go to TRN1.com by pointing your Web browser to TRN1.com.
If you have problems getting your new browser to work with AOL, go to the AOL Member Services area, click "Internet & World Wide Web," then double click the"Using other browsers with AOL" topic. This gives further advice on how to use a browser with AOL.

Help for Users of the AOL Web Browser


Many areas of TRN1.com use Javascript. To enable Javascript in the AOL browser, follow the following instructions:

1. Launch AOL Browser.
2. Clik on the Settings Menu on the top of the page.
3. Click on the pull-down window and click on Preferences
4. Click on the Internet Properties (WWW) link in the Preferences dialogue
5. Click the Security tab
6. Click Custom
7. Click Settings
8. Scroll down to locate Scripting
9. Click Enable for Active Scripting
10. Click OK, then click the Reload button

You need AOL 8.0 or above. We recommend upgrading to AOL 9.0. If you need to update your AOL software, you can download a newer version (free) by visiting AOL's web site.

Streaming Tips

If you are connected to the Live Stream but cannot hear any sound, here are a few things to check first:

1. Audio will only be playing during Live Broadcast hours. Check the Live Broadcast hours for when the Live Stream is available. 

2. Check that your sound control on your computer is turned up, and your sound control is not set to "Mute".

3. If you are using external speakers, check to be sure they are connected and turned on, and the sound is turned up.

Windows Users:

I get an error message about "Active X Controls".
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab > Custom Level. Look for "Run Active X Controls and Plug-Ins". Make sure the 'Enable' button is checked. Click OK to apply the new settings. Then try connecting again.

When I click on the Live Stream nothing happens.
If you have software on your computer that automatically blocks pop-up advertisements, you may have difficulty opening the Live Player window. Try disabling the blocking software and then connecting to the stream.

Can I listen to the live stream using a Firefox browser?
Yes, you can listen to the live stream by installing the Windows Media Player .asx plug-in for firefox. You can find the the WMP plug-in for firefox at the mozilla website here.

This Live Stream uses Window's Media Player.
Windows Media Player is pre-installed in the windows operating system. If you are unable to access this Show Audio Stream during the Live Broadcast hours, you can download the latest version of Windows Media Player for your computer below:

Can I listen to the Live Stream using a Mac?
Yes, you will need to install the free Flip4Mac plug-in for Safari to listen to the live stream.

iPad and iPhone users - you can listen to the Archives without syncing or wires
Click on any show text link. The show audio will play over a 3G or Wi-Fi connection without having to sync the podcast from another computer!

What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a method of publishing media such as audio or video, to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription instead of going online each time you want to look for new episodes.

Download iTunesHow do I subscribe to the Podcast?
You will need to download and install Podcast subscription software to your computer.
Then copy and paste the URL for your podcast into the software.
We recommend using iTunes for your Podcast, iTunes is free for PC and Mac and can be downloaded here.

What is the advantage of Podcasting?
Subscribing to the Podcast allows you to listen to the program when and where you want to. Even streaming may prove difficult because you have to be at your computer to listen to the program, which means you can't listen to the program in your car, on the bus, on the train, or sometimes even at your office (system administrators sometimes restrict streaming audio because it eats up bandwidth).

Do I need an iPod to Podcast?
No, you do not need an iPod to Podcast or even use iTunes. All of the podcast files are encoded as mp3 files, the most universal format for listening on various devices. You can listen to each podcast using almost any computer application: iTunes, Windows Media Player, Real Audio Player, WinAmp, and many others. If you like, you can burn the files to a CD so you can listen in your car or at home on your stereo. You can also transfer these files to any portable media device like the iPod or other mp3 players - and now even mobile phones.

RSS Podcast Link
Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 8 can subscribe and manage your podcast within your browser from this RSS Podcast link by choosing to subscribe to this feed. Older internet browsers may not recognize this podcast feed, in which case you can use podcasting software such as iTunes to subscribe to the podcast.

Setting up your Podcast in iTunes
1. Download iTunes to your computer (PC or Mac).
2. Install iTunes on your computer.
3. Once installed, open the iTunes player.
4. Go to http://www.trn1.com and log into the site with your account information.
5. Click on the Podcasting page to find your Podcast URL. You can click on the "Add to iTunes" Podcast button, then a window opens and click on "Click here to get your personal podcast link" to have it automatically subscribe to the Podcast.

If it does not automatically open iTunes and subscribe your podcast:
1. Click on "Podcast Feed Available Here", a new window opens, then click on "Click here to access your personal Podcast link".
2. Then in the address bar of the browser window, highlight and copy (right-click copy) the entire address in the address bar (it's long).
2. Then go to iTunes and in the horizontal menu at the top, click "Advanced".
3. After the drop-down menu displays, click on "Subscribe to Podcast...".
4. In the URL prompt box, paste the URL you copied (right click in the box and select paste).
5. Hit OK and you have successfully subscribed to your Podcast.


Once the Podcast initially updates, you can click on the triangle located next to the Podcast in iTunes, this will display the files available for download.

iTunes Podcast Management

Automatic Episode Downloads
Once you subscribe to a podcast, you get the most recent episode — and all future episodes — delivered directly to your iTunes podcast playlist. Download past episodes by just clicking the Get button. You can have iTunes check for new episodes immediately by clicking the "Refresh" button in the lower right-hand corner of the podcast section.

Add Podcasts
Subscribe to any podcast by dragging its URL into your podcast playlist or by choosing “Subscribe to Podcast” from the Advanced menu and typing the URL.

Podcast Settings
Open iTunes preferences to customize your podcast download settings. Check for new podcast episodes hourly, daily, weekly, or manually. Automatically download every episode or just the most recent ones. Keep all your episodes, delete them after you play them, or keep a specific number based on release date.

Podcast Times
Daily show podcasts are usually available 20 minutes after the end of the radio show broadcast. 

Sync Your iPod to iTunes to Download Latest Podcasts
You can sync your iPod to iTunes to download the latest podcasts from iTunes. See instructions on syncing your iPod here from Apple's Support site.

If your podcast stops working:
Check to see if there is a small exclamation mark(!) next to the Podcast title in iTunes. If there is, click on it and click "Yes" to resume podcasting the show, then click "Refresh" in the lower right-hand corner of iTunes in the podcast section.

If there is no exclamation mark, contact customer service for assistance.

 

Downloading Show Archives

There are several ways to download show archives:
1. From the Show Podcast if you enjoy podcasting.
2. From the Show Archives Page which has download links and instructions.
3. From the Listen Live page's Show Archive Player by clicking on the small triangle icon next to each show track or the small arrow button at the bottom of the Show Archive Player.
