Israeli Minister Yuli-Yoel Edelstein: There is No 'Arab Spring' Anymore, There is Autumn Turning Winter
Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a member of the Knesset for Likud and as the country's Minister of Information and Diaspora. Edelstein talks with America's Morning News about the threat a nuclear Iran poses against Israel. He also responds to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s repeated calls for the destruction of Israel.
Edelstein was born in Chernivtsi in the Soviet Union (today in Ukraine), Edelstein was an activist for Hebrew language learning. In 1984 he was arrested by Soviet authorities on false allegations of drug possession. He spent three and a half years in a Soviet Gulag in difficult conditions, and was seriously maimed. In 1987 he was released and allowed to immigrate to Israel.
