PHILADELPHIA — First lady Michelle Obama announced Friday the details of a $400 million administration effort to bring grocery stores and healthful food options to rural and urban communities, ramping up her efforts to fight childhood obesity at an elementary school here.
Flanked by top state officials, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Obama called the goal of eliminating childhood obesity within a generation an ambitious but doable goal.
