'Americans Are Not Better Off Than They Were Three Years Ago,' says Mitt Romney On America’s Morning News
Washington, D.C. – Talk Radio Network Entertainment and The Washington Times’ America’s Morning News (AMN) co-anchor John McCaslin interviewed Mitt Romney, a contender in the 2012 Republican Presidential Election, live on-air this week.

AMN’s segment featuring Mitt Romney is available at  http://www.trn1.com/mitt-romney-obama-take-responsibility.  AMN, the leading source for breaking news coverage on radio, features an innovative long-form news format aimed at showcasing investigative reporting.

AMN’s McCaslin addressed the former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney by saying, “Now, yesterday we heard echoes of a 1980’s campaign question posed by Ronald Reagan of whether the country was better off under Jimmy Carter than it was four years ago. Now fast forward to President Obama speaking to ABC News where he admitted that the country today is not better off than it was four years ago. (President Obama responded to the inquiry by saying, “Well, I don’t think they are better off than they were four years ago.” ABC News, 10/3/11).

McCaslin asked Romney, “How can a man who has been on the job, sir, since January of 2009 make such a statement?”

Mitt Romney, responded to McCaslin, saying, “I’m glad he’s finally admitting the truth, although he’s trying to find someone else to blame for his failures. The truth of the matter is that Americans are not better off than they were three years ago. They won’t be better off than they were four years ago as of November of 2012 and I think that’s why he’s in such trouble politically and why it is he’s casting about for someone else to take the fall. But the truth is, the buck stops at his desk and he’s failed.”
While on-air with AMN, Mitt Romney also stated that, “Divisiveness has never been a source of greatness or strength, the right course for America is to rebuild the foundation of our economy by pulling together and by getting government to be part of the team as opposed to being an opponent.”
Romney, also addressed topics and issues highlighted in the 2012 campaign, including: The Occupation of Wall Street protestors; Iran; and Pakistan’s value as an ally in the war in Afghanistan.  Romney shared with AMN’s listeners his stance on some of the top campaign issues being addressed by those campaigning in the 2012 Republican Primary Elections.  Romney gave his opinion of Presidential Candidate Ron Paul by commenting on just the idea of considering impeachment of President Obama because of the Al-Awlaki Drone Strike.  Romney also compared Paul’s Immigration Policy to Governor Rick Perry’s Immigration Policy.
